Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic

What is it? It is nervous system health through upper cervical (neck) adjustments, specifically the atlas. The atlas is the top bone of the spine-vertebrae on which the head sits. Orthogonal means "at right angles." The head is designed to be vertical and the eyes are designed to look level with the horizon. The center for equilibrium is located within the ears. When the atlas is misaligned from birth trauma, auto injuries or other reasons, it causes the head to tilt. The body instinctively tries to straighten the head upright while keeping the head over the feet (center of gravity). Any changes in the head's normal position will cause nervous system stress and change in the body's center of gravity and cause the body to twist the spine in an effort to bring itself back toward a balanced state. The misaligned spine shows up in many ways including uneven shoulders and pelvis and short leg. Due to the immediate proximity of the spinal cord and posterior spinal nerves, any damage or misalignment in the upper neck can have widespread effects on a person's health. Can you imagine living your daily life out of balance?
